News – Blues & Announcements – With Henry

News & Announcements

HI everyone! Let me tell you about myself.

My name is Henry and I'm 68 years old. I have 3 sons and 5 grandchildren.
I was a Jehovah's Witness from 1971 to 2007(36 yrs.)  I served as a Ministerial Servant and Elder during that time. I also associated with the Bible Students for approximately 5 years.

I've always been interested in history and current events. (I won the city-wide current events
contest when I was in 6th grade.)*:) happy  As regards this page I'll be scouring the Internet,
documents, and radio for articles relating to history and the current events as it relates
to the Bible and religion. Occasionally I will write some personal articles that I hope you will find engaging.

Feel free to post articles you may have found that you think would be of interest to our
readers. Some of you have posted articles already and I want to thank you for those and
I'll be looking for many more in the future.

Thanks!
P.S. Oh! Concerning the "Blues" part we'll have to see where that leads us!

    Henry,
    Henry,
Oh that’s cute. You’re trying to use Proverbs 18:13 against me. First of sweetie did you not write this in your previous post:

    >>>Also discussed was Charles Taze Russell and his words and conduct towards the black brethren. Unfortunately it was shameful.<<

Also if you read it carefully I stated the quotes are FROM JACQUELINE. NOT YOU!!

So as a response to idolatry; why do you let what some brothers do dictate your faith? We have some brothers that don’t follow Russell nor believe he is the seventh Messenger. We even have some that don’t use volumes or reprints. I can see why you’d leave the JWs because what the governing body does did affect your life. But why does what an elder does or says or even if they do idolize him affect your beliefs? All that’s required for fellowship is belief in the ransom. Some groups are very russeliteish. But I’m not going to let what they say think or do affect me. They didn’t call me to the high calling. Russell didn’t call himself a seventh Messenger or anyone special. He was meek and served the brothers. It’s only after he died that chreature worship started. I’m also not going to let what the WT said affect me. Most white people had racial bias in the 1800’s and I wouldn’t expect Russell to be much different. But when we read his comments NONE of them are racist. He believed in full equality for the oppressed and black. Read all of the articles. Not just highlited pieces.

  2. Henry says:

    Hi Chris
Thanks for your response to my posting about Charles Taze Russell. However you assumed much regarding my source material about Russell’s view about race. (Proverbs 18:13) Also I see you hold Russell in high regard and I will try to respect that, but I will not hold back from citing prejudice and racism when I see it. Also I will listen to your rebuttal on anything about him and his dealings with black people, Further, I will write what I think the long range effects of his prejudice has done down to our present time and it has nothing to do with the validity of the hollowed Divine Plan books.

Thanks for the additional sources about Russells view on race. I may use them in my write up. I will post it as soon as it’s finished.

But in the meantime, setting Russell aside, I would like for you to define and describe what idolatry and worship would entail of anybody. How would you come to a conclusion that a person or persons was idolizing someone. I will be awaiting your reply.

    Thanks for reading my comments.

Here’s a synopsis of the Saturday nights conference call. (1) First, we did a well being check. (2) We considered this website and the large increase of visitors to it. (3) We discussed the audio drama project. (would tell you more but it\’s a surprise) Also, our resident Psychologist spoke about today’s problems people are having a hard time coping with. We were invited to email her about the problems we are facing and what our personal insights were on those problems. These inputs would be used on the dry run of the audio drama.
(4)Another sister asked if anyone received an email from the Bible Students convention because she was concerned about the content and intent of what was said in that correspondence that she had gotten

Since nobody else received one, we spent a little time encouraging her not to be overly concerned about the harassing emails and to forge ahead with the fruitful work she\’s been involved in and to ignore the disrespect towards her.

    (5) Also discussed were the increased child abuse and depression that affects many people and even ourselves. This too will be included in the Audio Drama. We were encouraged to submit our experiences this week.

(6)Nowadays many people feel they\’re not accountable to God or anyone else for their
violations of God\’s laws. However, we shouldn\’t think God won\’t hold back from punishing those who disrespect his standards. He doesn\’t have to wait until Armageddon to do it. Some biblical examples cited were Sodom and Gomorrah, Nineveh (almost)Possibly the mysterious disappearance of the Mayan civilization. Known for their human sacrifices of men, women, and children, etc…
We cannot tie Jehovah\’s hands and say he only acted in the Bible. (added: Do not be deceived, God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, this he also shall reap.\”) In other words: Wars, social unrest, hatred, racism, economic breakdown, terrorism and the like.

(6)Also considered was the Bible Student\’s teaching that the beginning of the millennium reign of Jesus begun in 1874.
However, it appears the teaching that Jesus is ruling down to this day makes him seem impotent and incapable of doing anything about problems that\’s plaguing mankind now. Also, we read Matthew 24:23 \”Then if anyone says to you, behold there is the Christ, or There He is, do not believe him. \”Again the Bible Students has been saying this for over 145 years! However, they do have the right to believe whatever they want to believe.

(7)Also discussed was Charles Taze Russell and his words and conduct towards the black brethren. Unfortunately, it was shameful. (I will have future articles written more in detail on that.) It raised the question: How could the messenger (Angel) get it so wrong, for Acts 10:34,35 says \”I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality but in every nation, the man who fears him and does what is right is welcome to him.\”

(8)We started the discussion that night and ended with the mentioning of the shootings in El Paso Tx. asking what can we do as Christians to cope with these distressful times.
We read Ephesians 5th Chapter it served as a perfect template of how we should conduct ourselves as Christians. For 5:16 says\”making the most of your time because the days are evil. Eph. 5:22-6:24 gave further helpful admonition as to what we need to do in order to protect ourselves from the stresses of today\’s world.

(9)Sadly we all concluded that greater violence is set to come before this system ends.

Have you heard the latest edict from the governing body? Only JW”s will survive Armageddon based on the judgement of men. This video is titled ” Only God Can Read Hearts: 3 ways JW’s contradict this. This is a straight forward video that again reveals their hypocrisy. (Don’t miss the part when the Elders of a judicial committee talk behind a brothers back when he leaves the room. Priceless!) Please share any feedback you may have about this video.

Wow Henry and Warren, what an articulate young lady! I enjoyed looking at the video. So many are waking up the tyranny and the bizarre teachings of the watchtower organization. Thank you

What a happy ending to a life of pain.

This ones shows small groups if you want to study the Bible. Two or three. Religion is how man says he will worship God in his big buildings that require huge sums of money to keep preachers and governing body is and Pope’s living the extravagant lifestyles.

AN OPEN INVITATION TO SATURDAY\”S CONFERENCE CALL. It begins at 7:00 pm CST.
The purpose of the meeting is to give testimony to God and to share experiences about
how he blesses us every single day.
We also draw from Jehovah\’s word the Bible to help us cope with life\’s problems we may be facing such as shunning by the JW\’S, health issues, and other things. These frank discussions give us the opportunity to get to KNOW our brothers and sisters and to share our feelings with one another.
We also touch on Bible prophecies and how they are being fulfilled daily. For example, I was thinking about Revelation 6:4,8. concerning \” men slaying one another\” and \” being killed by the wild beasts of the earth.\” There are so many things that are going on in the world today that are being fulfilled just as the Bible said they would.
There\’s so much we can talk about.
So come as you are and join us. We\’ll be glad to have you. Even if you just want to sit and listen.

    TO ALL BODIES OF ELDERS
    Re: Use of JW Stream

    Dear Brothers:
We are writing to inform you that arrangements are being made for video recordings of
congregation meetings, circuit assemblies, and conventions to be uploaded to JW Stream (accessible
at ………) in various languages. The branch office will determine which congregations,
circuits, and conventions will upload the recordings. Foreign-language pregroups,
groups, and congregations who have received approval from their circuit overseer may make use
of these recordings. The October 23, 2015, letter to all bodies of elders contains the latest direction
regarding this matter and other matters involving the foreign-language field.
Accessing and Viewing Recordings: Elders and ministerial servants who have a jw.org
login have been given access to view all recorded meetings, assemblies, and conventions that are
uploaded to JW Stream. The same credentials that are used when logging in to jw.org are used
when logging in to JW Stream. After logging in and selecting the desired language, a list of recorded
events in the target language will be shown. If possible, the recorded meeting should be
downloaded to a computer or other media playback device rather than be streamed so that Internet
connection problems do not interrupt the meeting.

connection problems do not interrupt the meeting.
Recordings of congregation meetings will be available for one week. Recordings of assemblies
and conventions will be available until they are replaced with the next year’s event. In
many cases, this will enable brothers in foreign-language pregroups and groups to watch an
event at the same time and in the same location that their host congregation or circuit attends the
event. These recordings are provided for viewing by pregroups, groups, and congregations who
have received approval to do so from their circuit overseer. The recordings should not be distributed
    for other purposes.
Homebound and Isolated Publishers: The Invitation feature on JW Stream can be used
to send a link to a specific recording via e-mail. Congregations and foreign-language pregroups
and groups that have been approved to view recordings of meetings, assemblies, and conventions
may use this feature to allow homebound publishers in their congregations to view such recordings.
This provision does not supersede arrangements for homebound publishers to tie in to their
    own congregation meetings.
If because of sickness or other circumstances a publisher is unable to attend an assembly
or convention to which his congregation is assigned, the elders may determine that he qualifies to
receive a link to an assembly or convention that has been uploaded to JW Stream. There is no
need to announce this provision to the congregation. The publisher should be instructed that the
link is not to be shared with anyone else and that he should not view the assembly or convention
before his congregation attends. Since this provision involves technology that may be difficult

for the elderly and infirm to use, elders should be alert to provide assistance. If the elderly and
infirm do not have equipment to access the program, please have publishers who are familiar
with this technology assist them by loaning equipment, providing downloaded files, or in some
other way making it available to them.
Suggested Equipment and Internet Service: Pregroups, groups, and small or isolated
congregations may contact the Local Design/Construction Department for a listing of suggested
equipment after they have received approval from their circuit overseer to use these recordings.
Reliable and fast Internet service is required to stream recorded meetings directly from
JW Stream. An Internet service with a download speed of 3 Mbps or greater is recommended,
but a download speed of 1.5 Mbps should be considered the minimum.
Implementation: Priority will be given to uploading recordings of congregation meetings,
assemblies, and conventions in languages that currently have The Watchtower. It may take
several months before recordings in some languages are uploaded. Until then, please continue to
use existing arrangements for tying in to or distributing recordings of congregation meetings,
    assemblies, and conventions.
We feel that this approach will assist foreign-language pregroups, groups, and congregations
to receive nourishing spiritual food in a simple, sustainable, and expandable manner. It
should help interested ones to continue learning “about the magnificent things of God” in the
    language they best understand.—Acts 2:11.
Please be assured of our warm Christian love and best wishes.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — News10NBC has learned new information regarding the potential loss of major events at Blue Cross Arena.

Last week, the Jehovah’s Witnesses Convention, which has been held in Rochester for the past three decades, moved to Pennsylvania after organizers say they were unable to reach an agreement with Pegula Sports Entertainment (PSE), the organization that runs the arena. Click link for more

This is informative indeed! About Rutherford and how loyalty to a man does when the man dies an is forgotten but an organization will keep on living . That’s what Rutherford understood about corporations. Russell thought only he was it. And so he had the world ending in 1914!

This last mid-week meeting was almost entirely devoted to requesting more money. They justify much of it for relief efforts. I have never seen an entire meeting so blatantly putting a guilt trip on the publishers. They did the account report and almost sheepishly justified why we had so much money on hand and not forwarding it to the society. It’s sad.

    Hi Jacqueline,

2 other things God can’t do: 1) Make you love Him 2) Can’t embrace a man the way a woman can! A wife can hug physically.

    • jacqueline says:

      Okay, good Nubby Tope.
Speaking on the implications, Jesus will have a Bride and a marriage. His having been a man and actually living with women he created is just beyond my brain.
I am taking the course of going thru the Bible verse by verse rather than by subject. It is just profound! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpFgyY429MY&t=428s

I like Khouse because they give you other views to look at, it is like taking a college course. 24 sessions for Genesis took me about 2 weeks to go thru. My outlook on the simplicity of the truth with the help of the Holy Spirit rather than preconceived dogma by an organization or one man, has changed. God is not trying to trip us up.

The Old Testament reveals all the goings on of the New Testament. You can’t understand Revelation or the gospels unless you see the beginning in the Old Testament (Genesis).
The Jews probably wondered why Moses was told to make the snake wrapped around a pole and anyone looking to it would get healed from the snake bite. Snake is a symbol of sin and it would be nailed to the torture stake and anyone looking to Jesus would get healed. Now Christians understand something Moses and early ones didn’t. Just an exciting course.
I am looking forward to tomorrow when the guest arrives and we will have Memorial together and with the friends on the free conference call hook up.
Will you celebrate with a group large or small in your area?

TedR, Thanks for the info. I was in conversation with an ex-witness yesterday on how the stone cut out of the mountain ends rule by the statue. Then Jesus rule will fill the whole earth. Other scriptures let us know it would be 1,000 years.
One of my problems with Russell’s teaching is he and his followers today believe in overlapping and that the thousand years began in 1874.
My discussion with. BS elder on Satan being bound during the 1000 years was dismissed.
I will read this and make sure I alert the other person.

    • jacqueline says:

TedR, I belong to Voice of the Martyrs. Christians all over the world are being killed and tortured for Christ. Witnesses have huge press releases on their situation in Russia but most of the persecuted Church rely on Jesus. No Christian religion is immune, we are all in this together. No religion has “The Truth” that makes them immune to persecution.
As God reveals his plans satan follow right behind him to devour Christians like a lion!
Like tells us to lift our heads up when we see this, for our deliverance is near.
Pray for our dear sister U___, for Satan is on the attack and causing her harm.

Henry this is the page you requested while we were on Testimony meeting Saturday night.

    Watchtower Child Abuse Settlements
Watchtower is facing and losing a rising number of court cases, due to its policies and protection of pedophiles within its congregations. This article discusses some prominent cases and the reasoning courts give for judgments against Watchtower.

For detail regarding how Jehovah’s Witnesses are instructed to deal with child abusers see Watchtower Pedophile Policy, which discusses how these policies have facilitated the operation of pedophiles within congregations.

The ongoing settlement of cases by the Watchtower Society is highly condemning. Most of these are settled out of court with “gag” clauses so that the public is unable to obtain full details. More recently, some victims have decided to pursue their cases through the courts, so that people are able to become aware of what is happening within the Watchtower Organization and understand how dangerous their policies on child abuse have been.
